I am in the land of plenty...





...that is, plenty of food, people, smog and noise. I must say, Bangkok isn't my cup of tea or soup, since I'm talking about Thailand. It's too loud and busy. I want to go somewhere nice and quiet. So I probably will not be sticking around here too much. It took Megha and I about two hours to get to the main area of town, Koah San road, from the airport. Then it took I me another hour and a half to find the hostel I was staying in. I definitely saw some interesting things on the way... Besides sweating like crazy, since it's about 95 in the city, it's doable.

I had these ideas of where I was in terms of my yoga practice understanding, the spirituality of it, my flexibility and many other elements that are involved in the practice of yoga, but all of that knowledge was shaken up today. There is so much that I need to learn and understand about this practice which has existed for thousands of years. All the knowledge that I thought I had needs to be put aside and I need to be like a child. Goodmorning Bangkok!

So here I am, back in the city where my Asian odyssey began. Good old Bangkok! I didn't get to explore it much the first time around because of the sensory overload my first day in Asia. I ran away from this city screaming for air, fresh air that is and more space with less people. But now, since I've been around the block a little, the Asia block that is, I feel ready to take on this beast. So I am giving it a proper chance this time. I have four and a half days to run around Bangkok and see why this city is all about. The journey from Koh Pangan took a total of 19 long hours. One boat and two bus rides later, I pulled up next to Kao San Road a little after 7am surprisingly rested and ready to take on the city.
