First day in Bangkok:

33baht #555 bus from airport into the city
16baht #171 bus to downtown (does not come often)
10baht bottle of water (totally got ripped off but the heat was unbearable so all good)
87baht hostel for a night
30baht an awesome meal at a street stall down the street. Free water (BONUS!!)
12baht a huge bottle of water(better)
10baht half of a portion of some seafood mix dumpling at a street stall. It was ok. Glad I split it instead of getting my own.
35baht a box of grape juice at the supermarket. Now if only I had ice... mmm :)

Grand total of 223baht $7.19
Not bad huh? :)

Day one of Ashtanga Yoga Mysore teacher training course.

I had these ideas of where I was in terms of my yoga practice understanding, the spirituality of it, my flexibility and many other elements that are involved in the practice of yoga, but all of that knowledge was shaken up today. There is so much that I need to learn and understand about this practice which has existed for thousands of years. All the knowledge that I thought I had needs to be put aside and I need to be like a child. Goodmorning Bangkok!

So here I am, back in the city where my Asian odyssey began. Good old Bangkok! I didn't get to explore it much the first time around because of the sensory overload my first day in Asia. I ran away from this city screaming for air, fresh air that is and more space with less people. But now, since I've been around the block a little, the Asia block that is, I feel ready to take on this beast. So I am giving it a proper chance this time. I have four and a half days to run around Bangkok and see why this city is all about. The journey from Koh Pangan took a total of 19 long hours. One boat and two bus rides later, I pulled up next to Kao San Road a little after 7am surprisingly rested and ready to take on the city.
