Last days in Lithuania

The last couple days here in Kaunas I am spending at my grandparents' place. Just hanging out, making food, eating food and going through some old photographs and books from our old apartment. I found a couple childhood books and one of my favorites too; Hugas ir Josefina! :)
Also read some poetry from the many poetry books that we had, that my mom had, to be exact.

Even the house cat started liking me and let me pick her, which trust me, is a big deal with this cat! She is a little ray of light in the daily life of my grandparents. Mikė keeps them on their toes which brings some life to their not so exciting everyday routine.

Tomorrow I will be in London. Time here in Lithuania has gone by pretty quickly. At least it seems that way now. Now that the time to leave has come. Although I didn't have too many expectations for my visit, I got so much out of it. I got to spend time with my grandparents and I got to see my cousins and aunt who I haven't seen for years. Also I got to see some friends very dear to me. Unfortunately I didn't see everyone I intended to but that's how life works. Sometimes you get what you want but have to give something else up in order to get it.

Overall I am very content with my visit back to my old home and feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to come here. Time goes by so fast and it's easy to get caught up in things that aren't so important but only seem so at the time. I have made it a point to try to recognize the important things and people in my life and prioritize them. To live today and not expect that tomorrow will just be handed to me. I think I've been doing pretty well in that department so far. Of course, there is always room for improvement.

My granparents on their 50th wedding anniversary. They just celebrated their 60th...
A true definition of everlasting love. Beautiful.
