Back in America

A broken (travel) doll
Well, well, well... I am in New York City, waiting to get on the bus to Boston. Had to wait a bit for the next bus, after all, it is Thanksgiving. So I went to find myself some food before getting on the bus and got so excited when I saw a Vietnamese joint right down the street with a huge picture of a bowl of soup with the word Pho next to it. I almost passed out from excitement. I was shot down immediately when I pushed the door open and was told by the many people eating inside that they are in fact closed. Closed! My dreams of having Pho as my first meal in
America were shattered and then drowned in the laughter of the party going on inside. I recovered :) and found a Chinese place next door where I got soup which was nowhere near as good as I pictured te pho that I was imagining having just minutes ago. It did the job though. Now I'm ready for the bus ride, full belly and happy spirits. I will see my parents soon and get to see everyone at home. Aww my little baby kitty Mikė too :) it'll be great.

I had these ideas of where I was in terms of my yoga practice understanding, the spirituality of it, my flexibility and many other elements that are involved in the practice of yoga, but all of that knowledge was shaken up today. There is so much that I need to learn and understand about this practice which has existed for thousands of years. All the knowledge that I thought I had needs to be put aside and I need to be like a child. Goodmorning Bangkok!

So here I am, back in the city where my Asian odyssey began. Good old Bangkok! I didn't get to explore it much the first time around because of the sensory overload my first day in Asia. I ran away from this city screaming for air, fresh air that is and more space with less people. But now, since I've been around the block a little, the Asia block that is, I feel ready to take on this beast. So I am giving it a proper chance this time. I have four and a half days to run around Bangkok and see why this city is all about. The journey from Koh Pangan took a total of 19 long hours. One boat and two bus rides later, I pulled up next to Kao San Road a little after 7am surprisingly rested and ready to take on the city. I got myself and a nice tuktuk driver who ripped me off only a little bit and went for a fresh air ride through the city to my destination; the Siam Journey guesthouse.
