It's an island kind of Christmas
Christmas Eve in the Bahamas. That's a first! Well, my parents and I are in fact here, enjoying the warmth and the sunshine on a very family oriented tradition of the celebration of Christmas Eve or Kūčios in lithuanian. Traditionally you are supposed to have twelve types of food on the table because of the twelve apostles. We were lucky enough to have more than enough selection on this evening because the resort put together an absotely lovely ensemble of all kinds seafood, meats, deserts and everything in between. They really went above and beyond to make everyone feel like we were at home. Except for all the palm trees swaying in the wind and the warm weather, which will always be exotic to me.

We actually had a reservation at one of the restaurants here for this evening but after snacking on the delicious feast out by the candlelit water, we decided to skip that dinner and just watch a Christmas movie instead.
Although this morning was a bit chilly, it warmed up fairly quickly. It was so nice to enjoy the sun and feel the sand on my toes. I had missed that a lot. Later in the day I stumbled upon a volleyball game and ended up playing for a couple of hours. After that, even the cold ocean didn't seem intimidating. My dad joined the game an hour into it and we both totally kicked butt! :)
Tomorrow is Christmas and we have a nice dinner reserved for the evening. We intend to go to this time.
Merry Christmas everyone!
P.s. I am so excited about India. My mind is already there :)
