Summary. Sorry, it's been a while! :p
These past two weeks have been a blur of sun, sea, eating, drinking and staying out til the sun comes up. And all of that was accomplished with some amazing people I have met on the way. I have established Sihanoukille as my base until the day I leave for Vietnam. I haven't exactly worked out the details for that journey yet, but with time, I will figure it all out. I am not worried.
I have settled into a place called Moonlight Rock, own by some lovely Danish and Finish people. The place has a great vibe, excellent service, delicious food and drinks, and a feel of being at home as well as a great value for your dollar. My last few days at Moonlight were spent just hanging out in the lounge or by the bar and chatting with some fun and interesting people. The only time I left the place, was to go in for a dip in the sea. Otherwise I was fully occupied with doing absolutely nothing. Brilliant!
When I go to the Philippines or maybe Indonesia, I hope my journey takes me to a place where I could stick around for a month, maybe work at a bar, restaurant, or a guesthouse. I want to be a part of something while traveling. To meet new people and over a short amount of time, hopefully make some life long friends.
Sounds like a very specific request, however, when traveling, it's not that uncommon. You never know who you will meet in your next guesthouse, a bus or maybe while strolling through the local market. This world is full of opportunities and chance meetings so expecting a predictable outcome is absolutely impossible.
I have been very lucky to meet some amazing people everywhere I went so far and share many fun and unforgettable experiences.
In the last couple of weeks I managed to get certified in scuba diving, live on an island, see beautiful beaches on the mainland, stay out partying on the beach til 7am and have two motorbike accidents in one day (no worries, just a couple scratches). All these things were done while enjoying the company of many brilliantly lovely people.
As I am on day seven at Otres Beach and going onto my third week of being in the South of Cambodia, I can honestly say, I haven't been so relaxed and enjoyed myself for a long time. It's been great all around. So thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey so far! :) and also friends and family at home who still remember about little old me on the other side of the world. Thanks <3
