The Soul Dance (Matt, let your soul dance)

I've experienced so many amazing moments with so many beautiful people. And I mean beautiful inside and out. The kind of people who you know will be in your life in one way or another, at some point in time. The world is full of those people, you just have to go out there and find them. Lovers, stoners, loners, losers, strangers... But at the end of the day, those strangers become friends and your soul begins to dance just at the perfect pace and rhythm.
I am so fortunate to be here and feel and see everything that's around me. So many people dream about far away lands, they pray every night before bed to maybe someday be able to see those far away lands. And will they ever? Many don't and live through their lives with that sliver of hope, until it's all over. And here is this twenty four year old girl, pretending to be a woman, seeing the big bad world, exploring it with her heart open and her mind running wild. There are no limits for her. She is so free that everyday when she wakes up in the morning, she closes her eyes, takes a deep breath and thanks the world for its bountiful presents. The freedom of a bird that can fly over the seas and over the hills. It's irreplaceable and it's so precious. She knows the value of that freedom and she follows her heart in fear of not being able to take all the opportunities that might come her way. She wouldn't dare to waste them. Never. If she could, she would takes pieces of those opportunities and share them with the people around her. She wishes everyday that the people she loves could experience what she is experiencing now. It's not a story you can really tell but one that you need to go through. It's a story of discovery, wonder, and new places, cultures, people; it's a story of epic proportions which isn't one of a kind but it's unique in its turn of events and the people in them. It's unique because of the girl in the story. She's a dreamer but she's also a fighter and will not give up for anyone or anything. She won't give up reaching her or her dreams and making them a reality. You'll see.

I had these ideas of where I was in terms of my yoga practice understanding, the spirituality of it, my flexibility and many other elements that are involved in the practice of yoga, but all of that knowledge was shaken up today. There is so much that I need to learn and understand about this practice which has existed for thousands of years. All the knowledge that I thought I had needs to be put aside and I need to be like a child. Goodmorning Bangkok!

So here I am, back in the city where my Asian odyssey began. Good old Bangkok! I didn't get to explore it much the first time around because of the sensory overload my first day in Asia. I ran away from this city screaming for air, fresh air that is and more space with less people. But now, since I've been around the block a little, the Asia block that is, I feel ready to take on this beast. So I am giving it a proper chance this time. I have four and a half days to run around Bangkok and see why this city is all about. The journey from Koh Pangan took a total of 19 long hours. One boat and two bus rides later, I pulled up next to Kao San Road a little after 7am surprisingly rested and ready to take on the city.
